Oh, this Ninjabi woman can work Linux?!

So you can do it,  Lets see,  here you go.

Meanwhile, before that, the glorious men prefer to sit around doing nothing but waiting for their next pay-cheque.

A Ninjabi came and start work on their rusty linux server they’ve set aside for ages.

They could not sit still anymore.

Ibrahim: Invocation from being a trial for Kaafirun

Allah(swt) told the story of Ibrahim, the trials he faced with his people and how he responded to those trials along with the dua he made asking from Allah.  Admonitions to follow his example in this, is very clear from the following surah.

“Certainly, there has been in them an excellent example for you to follow, for those who look forward to (the Meeting with) Allah (for the reward from Him) and the Last Day. And whosoever turn away, then verily, Allah is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all Praise”. (Al-Mumtahinah – Quran60:6)

Memorising and reciting this dua repeatedly in this Ramadan and especially in the atmosphere we are currently experiencing as Muslims all over the world.

Ibrahim: Trusting and turning to Allah alone

Ibrahim(as) is an excellent example for those who truly believe and he earned his reputation by his firm belief in Allah, followed with decisive actions, which made him a beloved of Allah.  He made this dua along with those with him, facing trials of unbelief from his people.

Ramadan 2017

O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become pious.

Observe fast for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (e.g. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a Miskin (poor person) (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know.

Ibrahim: Invocation for Righteous Offspring

We delight in having children that will continue our legacy, so were the Prophets and the people of the past. Ibrahim was already aged before he was granted a child.  He proved his faith in the One God, Allah(swt) and dissociated himself from the disbelieving folks. He was tried in His faith in different ways and he proved firm and faithful through it all.

Ibrahim: Invocation for wisdom and good reputation

Ibrahim(as) confirms his faith in Allah(swt) in opposition to his folks who were disbelievers.

And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham).
When he said to his father and his people: “What do you worship?
They said: “We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted.
He said: “Do they hear you, when you call (on them)?”
“Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?”
They said: “Nay, but we found our fathers doing so.
He said: “Do you observe that which you have been worshiping, You and your ancient fathers?”
Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)
“Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me;
And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink.
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.
And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again)
And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)”
(Ash-Shua’ra Q26:69-82)

Ibrahim: Asking Allah for help to worship Him

Ibrahim Hanifah,  prayed to Allah(swt) to help him to worship Him and also his children, worshipers of Allah(swt). Imagine that, it can only mean that it is not enough to believe, our belief must be followed by actions, the acts of worship which confirm our belief.

Following our belief with the actions of worship does not come easy. It can only be made easy by the one whom we direct our belief and acts of worship to, Allah(swt), Most Gracious.  Ibrahim(as) acknowledges this fact by his dua for himself as well as his offspring.

In his tradition, we repeat the same Dua for ourselves and our offspring. Sometimes, we feel lazy about saying our salaat,  we procrastinate, look for excuses not to fast and we look for ways out of fulfilling certain other obligations. These are moments of weak faith, which could afflict anyone at some point in life. During these moments, this Dua is ideal to seek strength from the One whom we belief in and worship, Allah(swt) Most Merciful, the Acceptor of Dua.

Memorising this dua for daily use and Ramdan.
